Hello dear blog friends. It's #TankaTuesday and author Colleen Chesebro has another prompt for us.  She invites anyone who enjoys poetry to respond to the photo image below (submitted by Diana Peach).

I've chosen to write two tanka, each with 5-7-5-7-7 syllables. I hope you enjoy it, and I also hope you'll join in the fun. My submission --

With fingers crossed, let's all enjoy a week full of wonderful discoveries. Stay well!  😊

Hi My Friend,
Such doors that are suddenly opened have many hidden surprises. For me, I would question if I really wanted to open the door. Some doors are better left closed regardless whether the surprise is good or bad.
Have a lovely day.

Gwen, I think this is one of your best pieces of Tanka poetry. It conveyed mystery, magic, history, culture, people, spiritualism, and so much more. The words and the image were perfectly matched.

Nice double Tanka respose to the photo prompt, Gwen. A closed door does make one wonder what's behind it!
