THE CONTRACT thriller series

Book 1

THE CONTRACT between heaven and earth
The first book in the series is a collaborative effort with author John W. Howell. It straddles both the heavenly and the earthly realms through a fictional love story.

The elders in heaven decide that intervention is essential to thwart a catastrophic event. They create a binding contract with two souls who are assigned to avert the disaster. The reader follows Brad Channing and Sarah O’Brien as they separately and then together attempt to foil an assassination attempt that also includes global dominance. Much of the action takes place on a military base, where it is not clear who can be trusted and who should be feared.

Book 2

THE CHOICE, the unexpected heroes

The second book picks up where the first book ends, at an Air Force Base in northern California. The base commander invites Brad’s former Navy SEAL instructor to help him determine who is behind the murder of Brad and Sarah. It is evident that their deaths are part of a bigger plan, and the commander has an urgent need to thwart that plan.

A mystery unfolds which implicates key Washington D.C. officials. A confidential team studies the evidence and pursues leads. Eventually, they uncover a traitorous conspiracy that has as its goal -- world domination. The pressing question is who can be trusted and who cannot.

THE CULMINATION, a new beginning
This third book tackles difficult topics such as denuclearization, the power struggles over oil in the Middle East, as well as the ever-present threat of war. The action is non-stop. Readers will find themselves sitting with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, walking in the historic Red Square, and laughing with children in an orphanage in Turkey. They will glimpse the horror of war and watch the give and take of a negotiated peace. Readers will also meet the two Heads of State who fall in love and subsequently commit themselves to creating a world in which all are family.

I never expected to write this book, but in some ways, I had no choice. The characters crowded into my office and insisted that I listen to them. In a very real way, they wrote the book. I simply tapped the keys.

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way. ―Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
