My response to the prompt is a poem of two tankas.
Hello dear blog friends! It's #TankaTuesday, and I've a poem to share. This week poet Colleen Chesebro invites us to write syllabic poetry based on memories: sweet & sour. My response to the prompt is a poem of two tankas. I hope you have wonderful week. For most of us, it's mighty cold. But within those chilly winds, there's life, precious and dear. Let's find ways to explore and enjoy every moment. 💗

Beautiful and too touching. I love the photo and the wistful look in his eyes. The last line "if we had just one more day" brought tears to my eyes.

Nothing like a tear or two along with my morning cup of Earl Grey. You touched all our hearts with these, Gwen, especially that last line. But sometimes we need to be reminded to treasure every single day, as they aren't given to us in an unlimited supply. Beautiful poetry, my friend, tears and all. ❤❤❤

Oh, my! I immediately thought of my grandparents when I read your piece. It's shameful that our culture doesn't have more respect for the elderly. My wife's Italian grandfather had a glass of red wine each day.

What a chokefully delicious mix of those two flavors. I so know I'll get there one day. And that photo of the woman looking out the window... made me feel for her. I'll be that woman one day too. Lovely, Gwen. this is powerful. xoxo
