Each week author Ronovan Hester invites interested readers to participate in a Haiku Prompt Challenge. This week he provided the words sing and peace. I'm a novice at this poetic form, but I'm intrigued enough to attempt this simple verse. If you have interest, please click on the link above, where you'll find detailed instructions.

I've entitled my poem, Secrets of the Heart.

I enjoyed your take on the prompts Gwen and a nice haiku. This is where I am going wrong, my showers are accompanied by Heavy Metal and very wet air guitars :)

This is a perfect take on these words. Standing in the showers reflecting...so true. I lose a lot of time in shower in my thinking mode.

Tears can flow easily in showers and then comes the silence. Like you, I can lose a lot of time in the shower. Thank you so much, Denise. ♥

So on point, Gwen. I read a paper one time that gave substantial evidence to the effect that the shower provides an ion exchange that promotes creative thinking. I think the same is true of secrets of the heart. The ion exchange creates pathways to peace. As you suggest tears are hidden as well. Nicely done.

Oh my goodness, now I have a real excuse for a long, hot shower. I didn't know about the ion exchange. Thank you so much, John. :)

Beautiful, Gwen. And the correlation between shower and singing is perfect, even if the singing is silent. Well-done, dear friend.

Ooh! Your haiku is very deep. "We sing secrets of the heart" what a beautiful line and very profound. Love it! <3

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way. ―Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
