Morning light

Hello reader friends! I have a poem for you today.

Author Colleen Chesebro brings us another prompt and invites us to create a syllabic poem. Since this is the second week of the month, we're to focus on synonyms of these two words: dawn and twilight.

In just a few days, I'll be driving across the country to the great state of Arizona. It will become my new home. I love travel, but this is something other than pleasure. A move tugs at our hearts, because it is accompanied by goodbyes - to friends and to all that is familiar. Sleepless nights are common, but even more so - THE SUNRISE.

I'd love to know if you've experienced restless nights when moving or dealing with a trying situation. If you have, did the morning light lift your spirit? I'm always amazed by the healing power of just a glimpse of heaven's majesty. It always brightens my day. 💗

I have experienced restless nights when dealing with difficult situations. But the morning light always makes things seem better.

Lovely poem, Gwen. Wishing you all the best on the move and safe travels.

That's lovely, Gwen. Coming from a long string of sleepless nights, it gives me hope for better days.

Wishing you better days as you embark on your new chapter. It sounds like this move is a bittersweet one, but I have every faith you will find the silver lining in the clouds. 💕

Gwen, this is a stunning tanka poem. The photo is spectacular as well. Moving is so disruptive. Once you get settled you will feel better. We've been here almost six months, and are just not starting to feel settled. Be good to yourself. Don't expect too much of yourself (I have to tell myself that all the time). Take it slow. Hugs. <3

Thank you, dear Colleen - for the encouragement and the complement. Both mean a lot to me. Sometimes it's only the morning light that calms my soul. 💗

Never lost a minute of sleep due to moving. I guess after 20+ times one gets used to it. All the best for your trip. Be safe.

Dear Gwen, Moving can be very stressful even if it’s a good thing. I’ve moved many times in the past and can relate to those sleepless nights. Beautiful poem! Wishing you a smooth transition as you move forward in your journey. Blessings and hugs, Kathy💞

Thank you, Kathy. We're on the road now and only now and then have WiFi. But the end is in sight. YAY! 💗

Beautiful words, Gwen. It's always hard to move and leave the familar behind. When we moved from where I grew up, the Bay Area, it left me with many sleepless night and a locked jaw from grinding it so much. In the end it was the right decision for us. For me, it's sunsets that bring me great peace, along with gazing at the stars. Safe travels, Gwen.

Nature has a beautiful way of calming our souls, doesn't it? Sunrise and sunset -- both so incredibly healing. Thank you, Denise, for sharing your move. In a few more days, we'll be settling into our home. 💗

Beautiful poem, Gwen. I’m keeping you in my thoughts and sending all good things your way. I hope the move goes as smoothly as such things can.

Being wakeful in the dark hours is never easy, and yes, the sunrise brings light into the deepest corners and lifts our spirits.

Hugs 💕🙂

Hi My Dear,

I'm late getting to the blogs I read but I am now here.

I like this poem a lot because it speaks to my heart about the changes I am going through. I believe just knowing that change is around the corner causes sleepless nights, quickened heartbeats, and an unsteady emotional world. We want the new that is about to happen but the old is so comfortable that we don't want to leave it. We try to hang on. But become exhausted and soon find out that we have to let go.

I like Arizona a lot. I have been to Phoenix. I have a friend living there and my niece lived there while she was stationed in the Air Force. I was there for a week and I loved Phoenix.
Take care and happy moving.

Shalom aleichem

Beautiful Tanka, Gwen. Moving can be extremely stressful. I remember a few sleepless nights. Dawn is healing and helps you get ready for whatever comes next. Try to focus on your new home and neighborhood. That can be exciting. All the best!

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way. ―Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
