Morning light

Hello blog friends! I hope your week is going well and also hope you had a wonderful long Labor Day weekend.

I’ve been silent for a while, because my husband and I moved - for the third time in less than three months. It's been quite the experience, and for much of it, we had no WiFi. The good news is, we are now settled. YAY! Our home in a country area just outside of Prescott, AZ. Pronghorn antelope run freely in the grassy slopes, while horses and cattle are everywhere visible. It’s a serene setting, one that feeds the soul.

This week Author Colleen Chesebro invites budding poets like me to write about any topic for her #TankaTuesday Challenge. My tanka talks about dreams found and healed in the sunrise -- a gift I discovered from morning walks in this lovely mountainous area.

I took this photo with my cell phone as I walked in the early morning light. I hope you can see why this time of the day is so special to me. How about you - what gives your heart peace? I'd love to know.  💗

I can definitely tell why and I have to agree that the early morning with its quiet serenity is awesome. Lately I have been getting up so late and I really know I have to start adjusting my schedule as I love the early morning walks.

I am not a sunrise riser (LOL!). If given the choice, my body would sleep until about 8:30 am (sometimes later). Still, sunrise is a beautiful, serene time. I love your picture and the poem, Gwen. :-)

Thank you for the smiles, Yvette. I suspect growing up on a farm, where everyone was up at the break of dawn, has something to do with my schedule. 😊

Praying gives my heart peace. And when I walk in a rural area, that gives my mind peace.

Remarkable photo! It must feel great to finally be settled. Life without Wifi? Does that even exist anymore? I'd be climbing the walls.😜

Thank you, Pete. Yep, Wifi was down for several days, and because of changes to providers, I did not have a phone for a couple of days as well. Now I can laugh about it, but not in the midst of it. 😃

Moving not once, but three times? Ouch! Glad you've found such a lovely place to settle, Gwen. Beautiful photo and poem <3

Hello Gwen! I love the hopeful message from this tanka. I'm so happy to hear that you are finally settled. We used to live in Prescott Valley, AZ. so, I know you must be in that area. Did you know that Marsha Ingrao lives in Prescott? She jumps into the challenge on occasion. Happy new home! <3

Thanks so much, Colleen. I didn't know Marsha lives nearby or that you used to live in this area as well. How wonderful. Maybe someday I'll be able to meet up with Marsha. 😊

You do make me laugh, John. We're both right. We changed addresses twice, but lived in Prescott briefly, then Prescott Valley for 2 months, and now Chino Valley. It's no wonder we lost things and still have to remind ourselves where we are. 😂 We're too old for this craziness.

So glad to hear you've settled in after moving three times, Gwen. I hope you didn't unpack everything in your first two moves. I can't imagine myself moving after 30+ years living in this house. The thought itself overwhelms me.
The sunrise photo is beautiful. I could feel your poem - miracles rise with the sun.
Have a wonderful week! <3

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way. ―Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
