Autumn Equinox

Hello blog friends,

I've arisen from a Covid slumber to share a poem. Colleen Chesebro asked her followers to write a seasonal poem using featured Kigo words. I couldn't resist her invitation and created a simple Haiku (5-7-5). I hope you enjoy it.

I wish you well, and hope you avoid this latest Covid variant. It's a doozy. ❤️

First of all, I"m so sorry you've been dealing with COVID, Gwen. I hope you are soon completely over it and feeling 100%! I've had something weird going on for almost two weeks, with an eye infection or allergy and congestion. I read that this version of COVID can cause eye issues, so now I don't know whether to get tested or just let it play out. My other symptoms are mild, so far. Man, I wish COVID would just leave us the heck alone!!!

Secondly, I love the haiku. You are so good at these types of poems, it's always a treat to read your work.

Last, hope you have a great day today, well on your way to full health again! ❤️🤗❤️

Thank you, dear Marcia. This was/is my first experience with Covid, and I hope it is the last. I know you have suffered with long Covid, and now I know first hand how miserable that can be. Blessings and love to you, dear friend. ❤️

It's my favorite season as well, Dan, and the Northeast is an ideal area to admire the season's magic. Thank you for the kind words. 😊

Your beautiful poem and picture bring back fond memories of fall. Here in Florida, our fall months are cooler temps (in the high 70s to low 80s). I miss the smells and colors of the north. Thank you for a little time of nostalgia.

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way. ―Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
