Using a haiku form, here's my poem:
Author Colleen Chesebro offers another #Poetry challenge and invites us to use the #ekphrastic style. This is my first attempt to write an ekphrastic poem, and I'm not sure I've captured its intent. Perhaps you'd like to join me in this effort, and if so, click on Colleen's name and you'll be taken to her website.

Gwen, this is a lovely senryu haiga. The psychology of color affects our perceptions of this image. How do the colors affect your word selection? I like how you picked up on the waterfall by using the word passion. The flow of water is so mesmerizing. Excellent. <3

Thank you, Colleen. The colors stir romance and possibility. It's magical in that setting. 💗

Beautiful Gwen. I love the flow like the picture of the last line,"as passion surges." It was clever how you captured held rainbow which had a different meaning than holding the umbrella:)

Thank you so much, Mae. I often feel overwhelmed by how little I know about poetry, but I do enjoy it very much.

I don't even know what that kind of poetry IS, much less how to do it properly, Gwen. All I do know is that your verse is lovely, and fits perfectly with the beautiful image! Great job, from my perspective! :D

Thanks so much, Marcia. I hope your area is snow-free. We've been deluged with snow and temps in the single digits. It's unprescedented in our area. 😊

It was 82 degrees here yesterday, and though it's only going to the high 70s today (cloudy out), I'm pretty sure we will be snow-free. :D Thanks for checking though. Stay warm and SAFE, my friend! :) <3 2/17/2021 11:19:39
Some favorite word in this one Gwen. Passion and moist can't be beat.
