Maybe both

Hello, blog friends ~

The high desert has awakened and is alive with color and activity. The photo below is from my walk yesterday. Gorgeous, don't you agree? And to my delight, wildlife darted across the path as if to say hello.

On this #TankaTuesday, poet Selma invites us to "stay in joy" and focus on the season. I've chosen to write three interlinking Tanka (5-7-5-7-7). Perhaps because of the joy I feel, this was the fastest poem I've ever written. I hope you like it. I've entitled it Maybe Both.

Picture

I hope you have a wonderful week full of joy - even if you're tilling among the weeds.

A beautiful poem and Tanka trio!
I agree a weed is just a flower that you didn't want in your garden.💜💜💜💜

Thank you, John. It was a beautiful sunny day. My cell phone isn't the best camera, but it captured it pretty well. 🌞

A lovely photo of the area where you live, Gwen, but the poem is so lovely! It encompasses the magic of new life. Great job!

Beautiful, Gwen. I love when the color of spring burst through after a gray winter. You captured the joy and the choice we make to accept what is given to us. Xo

Beautiful picture and description of the awakening of nature, Gwen. Your poem is so truthful. Many plants considered weeds are pretty.

Gwen, this is such a joyful tanka trio. What would our lives be with our gardens? Even the weeds hold a special beauty! I think you've found your joy! 💖

Actually, at this time of year, the weeds look more like flowers than the flowers. I love Arizona weeds. Great poem. Have a lovely weekend. :) xxx

Hi Glen, Lovely tankas all. I especially loved the lines, 'we choose our joy/ an accepted blossom/ or an ignored beautiful weed'.

Beautiful scenary on your walk, Gwen! Exceleent capture. Your poem is beautiful and is an expression of joy by the sights. As some may say, weeds to one person, flowers to the other. I love to go on my walk in a large field with grass and weeds. It gives me energy by looking at them. have a wonderful week.

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way. ―Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
