At the river's edge

Hello blog friends~

Today is #TankaTuesday, and super poet Colleen Chesebro offers the prompt. She invites us to reflect on our zodiac sign, identify our respective color, and use this color in a poem.

In Western astrology, I'm a Virgo, so my color is Spring Green. I kinda like this color and wear it often. How about you? Do you like your astrological color?

In our area, geese have returned after a long winter. I see them almost daily and love to watch them along the river or the nearby pond. My poem is about these special visitors. I hope you enjoy it.

Have a great rest of the week and, for fun, let's all explore our special color. 🌞💚🌞

I am tempted to use a color other than my color... I love how you worked with your color, so perhaps I won't steal a Virgo thunder. (wink wink)

Please steal it if you like it. 😊 Color is fun to work with, play with.

It's a delightful poem, Gwen! I love colors so my favorite changes constantly... but it's probably green.
I absolutely abhor being labeled Cancer. Instead I call myself (and friends of that unfortunately named sign) a Moon-girl or Moon-kid.
Big hugs.

Thanks, Teagan. I totally understand. Maybe check out your sign with Vedic astrology. In Western, I'm a Virgo, but in Vedic, I'm a Gemini. Light green or light orange. 😊

My birthstone is the emerald, so I also fondly love green. I remember living in California, where the geese would never leave. One had to be very careful. A terrific poem and color, Gwen.

Thank you, John. Emerald is such a beautiful, powerful stone. A favorite of mine. 💚

Love the poem, Gwen! The geese have come back to our area, too. "Chatty gaggle" is so accurate.😂

I enjoyed your fun geese poem. I'm a Sagitarrious, and the indigo is a good color for me. Anything from Scorpio through Taurus makes me look like my liver is failing.

😄 I look scary if I wear red - and for that reason, I don't own anything red.

Green in many shades - Only one green shade I'm not fond of and that's what we call 'Monkey poo green' :D

Oh my, 'Monkey poo green' does sound icky. Thanks, Jules, for the chuckles. 😄

They are noisy but fun to watch. I have a soft spot for geese. My dad worked on the recovery team for the Aleutian Canada Goose (since renamed the Aleutian Canada Goose). They are a subspecies of the Canada Goose. They look similar but are smaller. Amazngly they migrate from the Alutian Islands of Alaska to Mexico. Talk about endurance.

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way. ―Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
