A child's delight

Dear blog friends,

It's been quite a week, and because of all that happened, I've not been on social media. Hubby's son needed emergency surgery, and our plans adjusted to be nearby. He is doing well, no problems, but I'm behind on everything. I will try to visit your sites, but it may take me a while. 🌞

When we were driving through the mountains, I got a wonderful text message from our neighbor. I had invited them to use the garden freely. As it happened, they walked over to our yard, and their grandson spotted the pumpkins. He was super happy. They took the photo below and texted it to us. Isn't it the sweetest!!

A child's smile and laughter can lift our spirits like nothing else. Don't you agree? ❤️

ready for harvest

children celebrate with glee

it's time to pick the pumpkins

Have a wonderful weekend. I've missed you!

Family first, Gwen. Take care of your loved ones. I wish him all the best.

Your poem is wonderful and perfect timing, as we are beginning to harvest from our garden.

I hope you have a great weekend, and everyone continues to get healthy.

Life continually throws us curveballs. I'm glad things went well with your hubby's son's unexpected surgery. We're still riding on cloud nine after our first extended time with our ten-week old grandson. The joy on a child's face reminds us to soak it in and not worry about all those bumps in the road.

Thank you, Jacqui. I thought I'd have a pumpkin or two, but I've got a dozen or more. Same goes for squash. I've a huge harvest of various types of squash. In my younger years, I'd be creative and do a lot of baking/freezing. Now I give them away. 😄

Gwen, I can see how that photo would have made your day. Thanks for sharing it. I hope your son is recovering quickly. The words "emergency" and "surgery" -- either one is scary enough alone, but both in one sentence... not something anybody likes to hear. Big hugs.

Gwen, nobody wants to have surgery but it sounds like your husband's son needed it and that it went well.

The pic of the neighbor kid with a pumpkin makes my day.

I'm so sorry to hear about your stepson's emergency surgery. And I'm glad to hear it was nothing serious. Of course, you need to follow your heart through the difficult time s and just skip all other concerns.

And the photo is precious; your poem a smiler. Loved it.

I haven't done anything with pumpkins in a long while.
I've seen some interesting varieties though, goose neck and some that look like snakes! And the verigated colored ones are nice too.

All the best for a speedy recovery!! We had a family member end up in the emergency room today... we are still awaiting news. They are in another state. Life happens.
